FOMF Production Diary

Even more closely, and still boned.

Less than a minute before crashing in the dead city

Another effect done (and rendering).

One more helicopter effects and I can finally put the helicopter stuff to bed.  I know it’s a small victory, but a victory nonetheless!

I’ve already fixed the lack of blurriness to the fast-moving stuff, but I didn’t bother to update the still.

In other words, it looks better in the video than on the still.

EXCELLENT- so, what does this make for the percentage of film done??? 75%?? 90%?? 95%??

Well, the editor had a few passes to make on a couple of scenes that are bothering him, and I and a few people are laying the smackdown on the remaining effects. The remaining effects, however, are non-trivial.

It’s not really a linear description — the video edits are pretty much done (except for those touchups). The vast majority of the visual effects are done, but the remaining half dozen are a real bitch and I can’t predict how long they’ll take. There’s me and one other person, and another fella is interested.

After the edits and effects, the sound design should take a month, maybe two at the tops, and then Cyoakha does the music, which will take as long as it takes for her (I’ve learned I get best results if I only push gently with her).

Wish I could offer a more precise answer than that. Best thing I can say is stay tuned here or our Facebook page (look for Guerrilla Productions), or holler out if you want me to add you to our Announcements List.

And hey, thanks for commenting! I sometimes feel all isolated out here in FOMF land — glad to know someone’s following along! 8)

My pleasure- friends and family frequently ask about when “my” movie is coming out!!! I mumble something about the Sistine Chapel…. Will look you up on Facebook! I went back and read some of the older posts, and laughed at remembering the scene where a bunch of us zombies were chasing the normal people, and all the probelms with the lights, generator, dolly, actor coordiantion, etc! Keep up the good work!

We keep plugging away at it, Tim. I spent most of last night reviewing HD footage of the helicopter model looking for the right two seconds to show the tail getting shot.

    I WILL find it…

Tim, that’s why I’ve gone through the old entries and worked ‘em over — so it would be FUN to scroll back and review.

    Glad it’s worked!
