Production Notes for Flesh of my Flesh

The Future of Human Evolution is the End of Human Evolution

Flesh of my Flesh is Guerrilla Productions' second feature film, an action-adventure set in the near future, where mankind is only now starting to realize that they were never meant for the top of the food chain.

Questions and Answers

When's it gonna be done?
We're working on it. There's a lot still that has to be done, a lot of sound work and music work and editing work and, well, just a lot of work. We're deep in post-production. We're insane. We feed entirely on ham sandwiches, burritoes, doughnuts, coffee, and whatever vitamin-enriched substances are poked our way.

Where can I buy a copy?
At the very least, we'll be selling copies via Guerrilla Productions. However, we are chatting with a couple of potential distributors, so that might mean you could find it elsewhere, too. Although, really, buying directly from us more directly supports us than buying it any other way. At least as far as I know. We'll see.

Can I get an autographed X?
Hell's bells, I'll autograph damn near anything. Hardly anyone asks me for my autograph, so it's still novel enough that I might draw a picture with it, too.

Can I get a script?
After our premiere, we will have copies of the script available commercially. We will probably include it as part of a "making-of" book. It should look pretty nice, based on what I have planned so far. Currently, it'll include the script, an expanded Production Diary, storyboards, biographies, behind-the-scenes photos and other cool stuff. We're holding off on releasing that because we have several surprises in the movie that, well, we want to remain surprising! Another interesting thing is that there are very many differences between the latest revision of the script versus what we ended up shooting.

Is it gonna be in theaters?
We would love to show it at indy theaters, especially if they have DVD projectors. If there's one near you, please let them know about us. I think it would be really cool to go on a tour, introducing it and showing it at theaters. Talk to your local indy theater and see if they would be willing to help sponsor one!

What can I do to help?
Well, of the top of my head, you can most directly support Guerrilla Productions' work by buying our products. We have a bunch of cool things up at http://www.guerrilla-productions.org/Merchandise.html and we also have a cafe press store at http://www.cafepress.com/GuerrillaProd although it doesn't send us as much money. Right now, this is our only income.

Is it really true that Sean ate a coaster?
Well, if by "ate", you mean "consumed", no. If by "ate" you mean "tore apart with his hands and teeth in a manner best described as delightfully furious", then I would have to say "You had to have been there."

Will you have VHS/DVD/what kind of versions?
We plan on releasing the movie only in "flipbook" media, meaning a flipbook with accompanying audio reel-to-reel tape. We feel that's the format of the future. We are also planning on releasing it as a DVD.

Can I download scenes?
Not at the moment. We have three teaser trailers online at the Guerrilla Productions site.

What is the movie rated?
Rating?! Next question!

Will there be a roleplaying game based on this film?
I hadn't thought about a role-playing game based on Flesh of my Flesh. I'm certainly open to the possibility. Interested parties should probably contact me.

Is it true that directors make good pets?
If by "make good pets", you mean "occasionally pulling back a bloody stump", then sure. 8)

I wanna be a zombie! How can I be a zombie in your movie?
Well, being zombies for our movie has come and gone. You are welcome to be an extra in any of our upcoming productions. Sign up for the Announcements List and you'll get advance notice directly from us about such needs. (sign up at the top level page of Guerrilla Productions.)

Are you still doing this?
Oh, you bet! If you'll take a peek at the Production Diary, you'll see that we are all wrapped on footage and are currently deep in the madness of video editing. It is for this we're missing Superman Returns, by the way.

Are you really going to make this movie for $10,000?
After the books have been settled, we came out having spent about $9,800. Under budget! However, we had one reshoot in September 2005 and that bumped us over $10,000. I think the books settled out around $10,200 or so.

How are you going to be able to afford to do this? A feature costs a bundle to make!
It's true that there are some things we just can't avoid (as far as we know). We have to feed people. We have to pay for generator gas and food and other costs that we just can't do on a wing and a song. We probably won't be paying much if any of a salary or rate to anyone working on the project, outside of required costs. And did I mention credit cards? Oh dear...

So, you're just not going to pay people?
Not in immediate cash, no. We can't. It's an amateur movie on a tight budget and I'm unemployed (note: I'm employed now). However, we can pay as per most amateur movies in credit and a copy of the finished DVD. It will eventually be finished, so that's a good thing. Also, there are probably going to be a few jobs that we just simply have to pay for, so those, we're going to basically pay on a deferrment if at all possible. That means we will pay, but after the movie starts netting us some profit. We consider these debts to be investments in the Production, and thus are our highest priority to pay out. We're also working out some creative methods, too.

What kind of cameras are you using?
Currently, we are using two Canon XL-1 digital cameras, loaned to us by an angel.

Where are you shooting this? Where are you located?
We shot this in the Portland, Oregon area, because that's basically where we are located and it's cheaper to travel not-very-far.
